It’s wonderful to have Kate Hunter – a fantastic Croscombe culinary wizard – regularly cook here. The dinners with Kate are relaxed and provide the opportunity to enjoy fantastic local produce. Enjoy an evening to remember with great service and food cooked with love and exceptional skill. Available to residents and non-residents. Numbers are limited, so booking is essential!

Kate started her catering career with an apprenticeship at the 3 starred Michelin restaurant, Le Gavroche, under the tutorship of Albert Roux. Cheffing for luxury yachts and private resorts in the Caribbean, the Jockey Club in Saratoga, and European Villas followed. Since settling in Somerset, Kate’s ongoing passion for the culinary arts has seen her skills much sought after for private lunches, dinners and weddings. Kate sources many of her organic ingredients from local markets, by foraging and by growing her own vegetables.

Starter – Spinach & Smoked Salmon Roulade
Smoked salmon & cream cheese wrapped in spinach roulade accompanied by horseradish crème fraiche sauce & served with tender spring leaves, quail eggs & crispy pancetta
Main Course – Butterflied Roast Lamb
Roasted Spring lamb with creamy braised leeks & sticky heritage carrots. Accompanied by Pommes Lyonnaise & finished with a red wine & quince-infused sauce
Pudding – Dark Chocolate Torte
Rich & velvety chocolate torte served with berries, drizzled with warm white chocolate sauce

Guests are seated on tables of 4 or 8 and only 16 places are usually available at each dinner. The evenings always attract a friendly crowd, so no need to worry if you book two places and share a table with another couple. Friends will obviously be seated together. My bar is well-stocked with wine, spirits, beer and soft drinks. If you do wish to bring your own wine, please contact me as corkage will be charged.

Chilled Traditional Andalusian tomato soup, garnished with garlic croutons, olive oil and Huevo Picado
Main Course – Roasted Cod with Chorizo & Romesco
Perfectly roasted cod set on a bed of seasoned lentils and chorizo. Finished with a rich roasted red pepper & Romesco sauce. Served with smoky roast potatoes, asparagus & peas
Dessert – Clementine Sponge
Light citrus sponge served with whipped mascarpone and a dusting of chocolate, served with Crema Catalana, (orange & lemon infused custard with a crisp caramelised sugar crust)
