I am so excited I could burst!
Finally after 6 long months listed building and planning permission have been granted and builders appointed. The original plans have had to be tweaked a little but the end result will be no less stunning.
The first step is to ensure that the 400 year old wall that is going to be exposed in the courtyard is structurally sound so 3 trial pits have been dug ready for inspection. This area is also covered with a plastic roof erected in the 70s which is absolutely awful. Once this is removed it will transform the whole building letting in more light and opening up a wonderful space.
Work really starts on the 6th January when I hand over the building to the builders Nick and Cameron and their team. I only intend to visit every month so the changes for me will be dramatic and I promise to share them all with you.
